How does it work?

01 — Choose your runner

Start by choosing the runner that fits your space and your style.

You can also visit us to explore different colours and materials in person, or to discuss small adjustments to an existing design.

For a custom size or a specific staircase, please get in touch with us. We’re happy to help you work out what you need before placing your order.

Our runners are handmade to order, using high-quality wool and natural pigments. Each piece is unique and made especially for you.

02 — Your runner is made for you

Once your order is placed, our atelier starts making your runner. As each piece is handmade to order, please allow for the production time stated on the product page.

Once your runner is ready, it will either be shipped directly to you or to the Bold Runners Atelier in Hilversum, the Netherlands, to be distributed from there.

03 — Choose how you’d like to install it

There are two options:

Install it yourself

If you’re experienced with carpet installation, enjoy a good DIY project or have a relatively simple, straight staircase, you may choose to install your runner yourself.

Please keep in mind that our tufted runners are made from substantial, high-quality wool and can be quite heavy and thick. A professional installation is therefore recommended, especially for more complex or curved staircases.

Have it professionally installed

For the best result, we recommend having your runner installed by an experienced professional.

We currently work with a skilled upholsterer who installs stair runners throughout the Netherlands. We’re happy to put you in touch with him so you don’t have to find someone yourself.

The installation is arranged directly with the installer and is not included in the price of your Bold Runners runner.

04 — Additional installation materials

Depending on your staircase and the installation method, your installer may recommend additional materials, such as underlay, stair rods or other fixing materials.

These are not included in your Bold Runners order and will be discussed and charged separately by your installer.

The cost of installation and any additional materials depends on your staircase and the chosen installation method. Your installer can provide you with a separate quote.

05 — Enjoy your stairs

Once your runner has been installed, there’s nothing left to do but enjoy it.

A Bold Runner is made to bring colour, texture and personality to your staircase — and to be part of your home for years to come.
